The short version

Ryan Santos.
Known as Erge.

He started on the turntables young, inspired by Bad Boy Bill, Julian Jumpin Perez, Tony Cabrera and his brother Jason Santos. By 1992 he was playing high school and private parties, and quickly made a name in the Phoenix scene with a sound built on Chicago house and hip house.

Alongside DJ Tranzo, Bener One and DJ Sink he promoted events and nightclubs across Phoenix — the Fun House, Club Alamo, the 411 Club. Then he came home to Chicago.

A Sunday residency at Club Papilion with Dark Enterprise from 1996. Two years with Dynasty Entertainment from 1998, which put him behind the decks at Crobar, the Dragon Room, Funky Buddha Lounge, House of Blues, Biology Bar, John Barleycorn, V-Live, the Bamboo Room and Heat. Further afield: Club Asia, Eye Candy in Las Vegas, and Hot Import Nights.
